Buying Pet Meds Online Doesn’t Make Sense Sometimes!
In the past it was not uncommon for some veterinarians to mark up medications 100 to 200%. Thanks to pressure from the Internet those days are gone. In the hopes to keep you as a client most vet clinics have reduced there cots on pet medications a lot. Here are some tips when doing so might not be such a great idea.
One of first reasons why buying pet meds online might not make sense is if your pet is sick and it needs the medication right now. In this case you have to put the welfare of your pet above the welfare of your wallet.
Second, if your vet has the medication reasonably priced, just get it from them. Not only will this save you time from shopping, but often times once you factor in how much the shipping costs are you see, it doesn’t make sense to buy online.
Third, sometimes your vet will offer to match the Internet price. In this case it is a good deal because not only do you get the medication for cheap, you don’t have to pay for shipping expenses.
Fourth, sometimes it makes sense to buy the medication from your vet to foster good will. Maybe they already cut you some slack on the price of the surgery or some other procedure. Show them your loyalty in return by buying from them.
Fifth, remember if you order online, you have to wait for the medication to arrive and sometimes it can be awhile. If you have to pay for express shipping sometimes it can make it cost prohibitive.
As you can see, the next time you need some pet medicine, reconsider on whether it makes the best sense to buy only. Getting the pet meds in your mail box might seem convenient, but your vet is only a short drive away.
