5 Ways To Find Help With Veterinary Bills
Finding help with veterinary bills can seem a bit overwhelming at times, but trust me there are resources out there to help you. But you must take action by talking to people, making phone calls, and meeting people if you want to get help with your pet care costs. One of the quickest ways out of fear is to take action, so start today!
Below are 5 ways to find help with veteirnary bills. In this post I’m assuming you already have bills to pay or are expecting some. If you want to find low cost pet care that information was in my last post.
1. Ask family and friends for $20 loan. Most people don’t mind lending you $20. So if you have a $100 vet bill, you need to find 5 people to loan you the money.
2. Sign up for Care Credit. Care credit acts like a credit card but it is so much better. Almost all vet clinics accept it and it often comes with 0% interest for 18 months. It is always best to try and sign up for care credit first before putting your pet’s expenses on a credit card.
3. Contact local shelter or pet rescues in your area and see if they know of any pet assistance funds that you might have access to. The internet also has a large list of these as well. Often times to quailify for these funds you have to be under a certain income level.
4. A very underused way is taking out a bank loan. Believe it or not banks due loan money for pet expenses. The one major hang up for some people here is that you often have to have collateral to put up in case you fail to repay the loan.
5. If you can’t find any other help, talk to your veteriarian and try to arrange a payment plan. A lot of vets have been hurt before by clients who promised to pay but did not. If you do get your veterinarian to agree to a payment plan be sure to pay it on time for the full amount.
These are just some of the ways to find help with veterinary bills that I can think of for now. For a much large list visit: slash your veterinary bills.
